Never fails – when we’re at a party the topics seem to turn towards what I call, “Last Call Topics”. Like: ‘What kind of Funeral you going for, K-mart or Nordstrom’s?” or “Where’s the last place you want to go before you die?”
Last night’s dinner party someone actually said: “Where do you want to go AFTER you die?” Now there’s a question to think about! And we did…
Six bottles of wine and two bottles of Vanilla Stoli and I think someone drank the rest of my mouthwash.
One conversation went…
Peter (our Muslim friend): “Our belief is we go to Paradise after we die”. Me: “Where’s paradise?” Peter: “Disneyland”.
Amy: “I want to go to Vegas.” (We think…she’s Catholic).
Jonathan: “According to Jewish belief, it is only the body that dies, while the soul lives on into eternity”. My husband: “So, you going to Buffalo?”
Linda & Melissa: “We’re going to Key West”. Our Minister Friend: “We?”
Stephen (our non-believer): “I’m going to Washington DC”. I think he drank my mouthwash.
Me: Don’t remember. “Thank God”.
